PBA News 2018: San Miguel Beermen cracked the Alaska Aces, 92-79, and bagged Game 1 of their Best-of-Five duel in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Semifinals this Saturday at the MOA Arena. Four time PBA MVP Junemar Fajardo carried the Beermen storm with his 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals.

Notes:

➤ Alex Cabagnot also added 15 buckets and 5 assists for the Beermen, while Renaldo Balkman managed to chip-in a double-double of 13 points and 11 caroms.

Alaska big man Diamon Simpson led the defeated Aces with gargantuan 31 points, 24 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks while Vic Manuel dropped 16 points and 6 boards. Manuel’s 20 points-a-game streak was halted today (11 games total).

➤ SMB now leads the Milkmen 1-0 in their Semifinals battle. They will resume court hostilities on Monday July 16 at the Araneta Coliseum.

PBA News 2018: James Yap catapulted Rain or Shine Elasto Painters over GlobalPort Batang Pier, 103-97, to join the Semifinals pack in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup this Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena. Yap drilled seven career-high three-point bombs to finish with 27 points, while import Reggie Johnson pummeled ROS with his 29 markers, 15 rebounds and 6 assists.

➤ Rain or Shine will next face Ginebra in a Best-of-Five Semifinals series showdown.

➤ Raymund Almazan also contributed for the Painters with his 16 buckets.

Stanley Pringle led the eliminated GlobalPort with 23 points, 5 boards and 8 dishes, while Pao Javelona chipped-in 18 markers.

➤ Import Malcolm White of Batang Pier was a disappointment as he only managed to drop 12 points the whole game.

PBA News 2018: Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings blasted rival Meralco Bolts, 104-90, to gain another Semifinals berth in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup this Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum. Import Justin Brownlee led the Gin Kings anew with his 36 monstrous points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals. Big man Greg Slaughter also powered Ginebra with his 14 markers and 10 boards.

➤ Ginebra is riding a seven-game winning streak.

➤ Arinze Onuaku led the eliminated Bolts with his 21 buckets and 13 caroms, while Chris Newsome added 17 points.

PBA News 2018: San Miguel Beermen stopped Talk ‘N Text KaTropa, 106-102, to barge into the Semifinal round of the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup this Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum. Import Renaldo Balkman delivered the goods for the Beermen with his 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Alex Cabagnot meanwhile whipped 21 markers, 6 boards and 6 dishes for SMB.

SMB big man June Mar Fajardo also contributed a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds.

The Bro” Terrence Romeo led the TNT pack with his 28 buckets, 8 assists and 5 steals. It wasn’t enough though, as the KaTropa lost another opportunity to book a Semis ticket, after he air-balled his clutch shot in the final 28 seconds of the game.

➤Talk ‘N Text import Joshua Smith also chipped-in 21 markers and 18 rebounds, while Anthony Semerad added 19 points and 5 caroms.

PBA News 2018: Alaska Aces wrecked Magnolia Hotshots, 89-78, courtesy of another monster performance from Vic Manuel in Game 2 of their quarterfinals battle in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup this Tuesday at the Araneta Coliseum. Manuel finished with 22 points and 9 rebounds.

Notes:

Manuel notched a record 11 game streak of more than 20 points per game.

Chris Banchero also contributed 14 buckets, 4 boards and 3 dishes for the Aces.

➤ Journeyman reinforcement Wayne Chism chipped-in 20 points and 15 caroms for the eliminated Pambansang Manok.

PBA News 2018: GlobalPort Batang Pier shocked Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 114-113, and force a winner-takes-all in their best-of-three series in 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Quarterfinals this Tuesday at the Araneta Coliseum. Import Malcolm White paved the way for Batang Pier with his 28 points and 16 rebounds, while Jonathan Grey dropped the clutch three in the dying seconds of the game to finish with 22 points.

Notes:

GlobalPort and Rain or Shine are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-three quarterfinals showdown.
White was saddled with foul troubles and sat the game with 1:57 remaining in the 3rd before returning in the last 6:12 of the 4th quarter.
➤ The Painters led by as much 16 points in the 3rd canto but failed to sustain their charge and eventually lost steam in the final minutes of the game.

Stanley Pringle also contributed 21 markers, 9 caroms and 9 assists.

Reggie Johnson stood out for the Painters with his 24 buckets, 15 boards, and 7 dishes, while beanpole Raymund Almazan shared 17 points and 11 rebounds.

PBA News 2018: San Miguel Beermen smote the Talk ‘N Text KaTropa, 121-110, to steal Game 1 of their best-of-three showdown  in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Quarterfinals this Monday at the Araneta Coliseum. Import Renaldo Balkman roared with 36 monstrous points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals, while June Mar Fajardo added 27 buckets and 13 boards.

Notes:

➤ San Miguel now leads 1-0 over TNT in the quarterfinals.

➤ Roger Pogoy consoled the losing KaTropa with 17 points. Reinforcement Joshua Smith meanwhile chipped-in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Veteran Fil-Am Kelly Williams also added 16 buckets – all on three point bombs.

➤ Reliable long-range sniper Marcio Lassiter also gave the Beermen 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

➤ The Beermen overcame a 23 point Talk ‘N Text lead, 23-46 in the second quarter.

➤ The quarterfinals game was controversial as Talk ‘N Text opted to protest the game which San Miguel won. Team Manager Virgil Villavicencio of TNT placed Game 1 under protest. No reasons were given yet as of press time.

PBA News 2018: San Miguel Beermen halted the BlackWater Elite, 115-106, to barge into the quarterfinals of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup 2018 this Wednesday at MOA Arena in Pasay. Veteran Arwind Santos carried the Beermen to its third straight victory with 23 big buckets and 15 rebounds . Marcio Lassiter also contributed 18 points while journeyman Kelly Nabong added 13 markers.

SMB now sports a 6-4 win-loss slate and ranks 5th in the quarterfinals standings.

➤ Prized Puerto Rican import Renaldo Balkman was limited to only 12 points the entire ballgame.

➤ Four-time MVP June Mar Fajardo had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Henry Walker provided 26 points and 12 caroms for the losing Elite, while Mike DiGregorio chipped-in 19 points.

➤ San Miguel’s bench outscored Blackwater 56-27.

➤ The Elite notched its 10th loss in 11 games in the Commissioner’s Cup and dropped to last in standings (12th).
