PBA 2018: Olu Ashaolu once again lifted the NLEX Road Warriors, this time over NorthPort Batang Pier, 123-107, this Sunday evening at the Ynares Center. Ashaolu paced NLEX with 27 points and 13 rebounds, while veteran marksman Larry Fonacier and former SWU star Mark Tallo contributed 14 markers apiece.
Notes:
➤ Despite the monstrous offense of Ashaolu, the rest of NLEX provided the necessary firepower as six players also finished in double figures.
➤ NorthPort import Rashad Woods delivered the goods for the losing NorthPort with 42 buckets, 12 boards and 8 assists. However, his awesome effort fell short as NorthPort lost by 16 points opposite a team with an injured reinforcement. Mo Tautuaa led the Batang Pier locals with 20 points, 12 caroms and 4 dimes contribution.
➤ Batang Pier is missing the services of Stanley Pringle who’s presently playing in the Asian Games, and also Sean Anthony. NLEX, meanwhile, did not have Asi Taulava and coach Yeng Guiao who are also in Jakarta for the Asiad.
