PBA News 2018: Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings mangled the Meralco Bolts, 88-81, thanks to Justin Browlee heroics in Game 1 of their best-of-three matchup in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Quarterfinals this Monday at the Araneta Coliseum. Import Brownlee stirred Ginebra with his 25 big points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Joe Devance and Greg Slaughter meanwhile contributed 14 and 13 markers apiece.

Notes:

➤ Ginebra now leads 1-0 in their best-of-three quarterfinals head-to-head.

➤ Baser Amer paced the losing Bolts with 15 buckets, 5 assists and 3 boards, while Jared Dillinger made 13 points. Reinforcement Arinze Onuaku dropped a dismal 13 points and 18 boards performance.

➤ The Gin Kings are now on a 6-game winning streak rampage and one game shy of reaching the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Semifinals.
