PBA News 2018: Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings advanced to the Finals as it stomped Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 96-94, in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup this Monday at the Araneta Coliseum. Greg Slaughter powered the Gin Kings  with his 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, while Joe Devance also contributed 19 markers, 6 assists and 3 steals.

Notes:

➤ Justin Brownlee was limited to only 12 buckets,17 boards and 8 assists.

➤ Reggie Johnson fought for the losing ROS with his 22 buckets, 16 boards and 5 assists, while Raymund Almazan also added 13 points and 6 rebounds.

➤ Barangay Ginebra had four players in double figures.

➤ Ginebra will next face in the PBA Finals the San Miguel Beermen this Friday, July 27 at the Araneta Coliseum.

PBA News 2018: San Miguel Beermen entered the Finals as it eliminated the Alaska Aces, 104-99, in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup this Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum. “The Kraken” Junemar Fajardo powered SMB with his 26 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks, while import Renaldo Balkman also chipped-in 23 buckets, 16 caroms and 5 assists. Meanwhile, Alex Cabagnot‘s trey shot with 34 seconds remaining sealed the game for the Beermen, 100-92.

Notes:

➤ Cabagnot ended-up with 18 markers, 9 assists and 5 rebounds.

➤ Diamon Simpson led the losing Aces with 24 markers, 21 caroms and 4 dishes, while Vic Manuel also contributed 20 points and 4 steals.

➤ Manuel is now out of the PBA BPC – Best Player of the Conference contention as they bowed out of the Semifinals. He is currently at second place with 37.58 statistical points, while Fajardo leads with 38.77 SPs.

➤ San Miguel will next face in the FInals the winner of the ongoing Semifinals war between Rain or Shine and Ginebra.

PBA News 2018: Justin Brownlee‘s 44 points lifted Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings over Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 75-72, to lead 2-1 in their Semifinals face-off in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup this Saturday at the MOA Arena. Brownlee posted incredible numbers as he also crunched 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals, while “El Tinyente” LA Tenorio also contributed 13 markers, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Notes:

➤ Reggie Johnson paced the losing Elasto Painters with 13 buckets and 22 boards, while beanpole Raymund Almazan added 12 points and 9 caroms.

➤ Ginebra led by as much as 25 points beginning in the second quarter 43-18, courtesy of Brownlee’s 25 first half points.

➤ Game 4 will be Monday, July 23 at the Araneta Coliseum.

PBA News 2018: San Miguel Beermen ripped the Alaska Aces, 105-94, to lead 2-0 in their Semifinals series in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup this Monday at the Araneta Coliseum. Import Renaldo Balkman led the Beermen once again with his 31 points, while “The Kraken” Junemar Fajardo also lifted SMB with 21 markers, 18 boards and 2 steals.

Notes:

➤ Diamon Simpson led the listless Aces with his 19 buckets, 15 caroms and 6 blocks, while Simon Enciso added 19 points as well. Vic Manuel once again fizzled and was relegated to only 15 points total.

➤ Alaska led by as much as 16 points in the second canto, 41-25, but failed to sustain their momentum as San Miguel fought back to snatch the game from the Aces.

➤ Alaska is missing the services of vital cogs Chris Banchero and Calvin Abueva

➤ The Beermen and the Milkmen will continue their Semis rivalry this coming Wednesday at the same venue.

PBA News 2018: Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings torched Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 102-89, en route to Game 1 victory in their Semifinals matchup in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup this Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum. Justin Brownlee once again backstopped Barangay Ginebra with incredible 35 big points, 14 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 blocks. Negros Sniper Jeff Chan also proved his mettle with his 21 markers and 4 boards.

Notes:

➤ Ginebra is now riding an eight-game winning streak. They lead the Semifinals series opposite ROS with a 1-0 win-loss slate.

➤ Import Reggie Johnson powered the losing Painters with 30 buckets and 13 caroms, while James Yap added 15 markers and 8 rebounds.

➤ Japeth Aguilar did not play due to Achilles tendon injury. Greg Slaughter made-up for big man duties as he defended against Johnson and also scored 20 points and hauled 6 rebounds.

➤ The Gin Kings will resume their Semifinals skirmish with Rain or Shine this Tuesday July 17 again at the Araneta Coliseum.

PBA News 2018: San Miguel Beermen cracked the Alaska Aces, 92-79, and bagged Game 1 of their Best-of-Five duel in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Semifinals this Saturday at the MOA Arena. Four time PBA MVP Junemar Fajardo carried the Beermen storm with his 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals.

Notes:

➤ Alex Cabagnot also added 15 buckets and 5 assists for the Beermen, while Renaldo Balkman managed to chip-in a double-double of 13 points and 11 caroms.

➤ Alaska big man Diamon Simpson led the defeated Aces with gargantuan 31 points, 24 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks while Vic Manuel dropped 16 points and 6 boards. Manuel’s 20 points-a-game streak was halted today (11 games total).

➤ SMB now leads the Milkmen 1-0 in their Semifinals battle. They will resume court hostilities on Monday July 16 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Yap drilled seven career-high three-point bombs to finish with 27 points, while import Reggie Johnson pummeled ROS with his 29 markers, 15 rebounds and 6 assists.

➤ Rain or Shine will next face Ginebra in a Best-of-Five Semifinals series showdown.

➤ Raymund Almazan also contributed for the Painters with his 16 buckets.

Import Renaldo Balkman delivered the goods for the Beermen with his 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Alex Cabagnot meanwhile whipped 21 markers, 6 boards and 6 dishes for SMB.

Notes:

➤ SMB big man June Mar Fajardo also contributed a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds.

➤ “The Bro” Terrence Romeo led the TNT pack with his 28 buckets, 8 assists and 5 steals. It wasn’t enough though, as the KaTropa lost another opportunity to book a Semis ticket, after he air-balled his clutch shot in the final 28 seconds of the game.

➤Talk ‘N Text import Joshua Smith also chipped-in 21 markers and 18 rebounds, while Anthony Semerad added 19 points and 5 caroms.
