CESAFI 2017 News: UV Green Lancers warded off the UV Green Lancers, 69-56, to snatch the championship title in their Best-of-Three series in CESAFI Men’s Basketball Finals 2017 this Sunday at the Cebu Sports Coliseum. Mythical Five awardee Rey Anthony Suerte led the Green Lancers with 20 big points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Justine Dacalos meanwhile backstopped the Webmasters with 23 buckets.
Notes:
Webmasters big man import Frederick Ngoh Elombi was limited to a regrettable 3 points total due to Green Lancers impeccable double team defense.
UC coach Yayoy Alcoseba conceded with 20 seconds remaining in the game.
UV won the title with a 2-1 series Finals victory
The championship title is the second consecutive CESAFI title for University of Visayas and their 12th overall.
