MPBL News: Makati Skyscrapers axed the Manila Stars, 99-98, in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League this Thursday at the Ynares Center. Jeckster Apinan lifted Makati with his 24 points and 8 rebounds, while Cedrick Ablaza chipped-in 23 points. Chris Bitoon paced the losing Stars with 21 markers and 4 assists.
Notes:
➤ Apinan was a former PBA Pro player for NLEX and KIA Mahindra before suiting up for the Skyscrapers.
➤ Manila Stars failed to hold-on to a whopping 16 points lead, 60-44 at one point in the third quarter.
➤ Adrian Celada shot 4 of 6 treys, finishing the evening with 15 points.
➤ Ynares Center had a light outage during the game’s halftime which lasted 10 minutes.
