UAAP Final Four News 2018: Unstoppable Ateneo Blue Eagles smashed the FEU Tamaraws, 80-61 to enter the Finals of the 2018 UAAP Season 81 Men’s basketball this Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum. Thirdy Ravena led the Eagles hot offense with 22 buckets, 7 caroms, and 4 dimes, while import Angelo Kouame dominated with his 18 markers, 11 rebounds, and 4 swats.

Notes:

➤ The Blue Eagles clamped down on defense as they limited all FEU players from scoring in double digits. They also blitzed to an early lead as they registered an 8-0 offensive blast over the Tamaraws.

➤ Barkley Eboña had the highest output for FEU with nine buckets, while Prince Orizu and RJ Ramirez had 7 points apiece. Arvin Tolentino was a non-factor the whole game as he was held to only five points.

➤ Ateneo will have a long rest as they await the victor between Adamson and UP in the last Semis pairing this Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

FEU trounces La Salle, 71-70

UAAP 2018 News: FEU Tamaraws trounced the La Salle Green Archers, 71-70 to book the last UAAP Final Four ticket in the 2018 UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball this Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum. Arvin Tolentino sank the game-winning trey and led the Tamaraws with 15 markers total, while Kevin Ebona also finished with 12 points and 16 boards.

Notes:

Tolentino converted the clutch three-point bomb for FEU with 3.1 seconds remaining in crunch time. Santi Santillan had a chance to steal the game for DLSU but failed to drain the shot due to FEU’s stifling defense.

➤ The Far Eastern University is now on their sixth straight Final Four appearance in the UAAP.

➤ Meanwhile, Santillan paced the eliminated La Salle with his 20 buckets and 6 caroms, while Aljun Melecio had 9 points and 6 assists.

➤ The FEU Tamaraws will next battle the number one Ateneo Blue Eagles for the UAAP Final Four this Sunday, November 25. Defending champion Ateneo will have the twice-to-beat advantage in their semifinals showdown.

UE barges to win column, rips FEU, 90-65

UAAP News 2018: UE Red Warriors finally barged into the win column, as it ripped the FEU Tamaraws, 90-65, in the 2018 UAAP Season 81 Men’s basketball this Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena. Alvin Pasaol led the UE charge with his 25 points and 13 boards, while Jason Varilla added 15 points on 5 of 5 three-point bombs.

Notes:

➤ The Red Warriors established an insurmountable 33-point dominance, 88-55 in the 4th canto to will the way to their first victory at Season 81.

UE converted basket after basket as they shot 45.95% total from the field, compared to FEU who only had 33.87%.

Hubert Cani and Arvin Tolentino led the defeated Tamaraws with 12 and 11 points respectively, while FEU big man import Prince Orizu was limited to only 5 points all game.

➤ The University of the East is now 1-4 in the UAAP standings, while the Far Eastern University fell to 2-2 win-loss record.

UAAP News 2018: FEU Tamaraws thumped the DLSU Green Archers, 68-61 in the 2018 UAAP Season 81 basketball at the MOA Arena this Sunday in Pasay. Arvin Tolentino lifted the Tamaraws with his 13 markers, while Kenneth Tuffin copped 11 points for the Morayta-based dribblers.

Notes:

Far Eastern University trailed to the Archers in the third by as much as 7 points, but the Tamaraws balanced offense halted DLSU‘s advance.

Santi Santillan led the losing De La Salle University with his 19 points, while Aljun Melecio added 11 buckets.

➤ The Archers are playing their first UAAP game minus coach Aldin Ayo who now mentors the UST Growling Tigers. They also lost ace star Ricci Rivero who will play for the UP Maroons next year. Additionally, former DLSU players Brent Paraiso and Prince Rivero will come back to play for UST Growling Tigers next season.

Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup News: Ateneo Blue Eagles pounded the FEU Tamaraws, 50-38, to barge into the Finals of the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup this Friday in San Juan. Spitfire Thirdy Ravena led the Tamaraws with miniscule 7 points in a defense oriented and low-scoring ballgame. The Blue Eagles will next face for the championship the victor between San Beda and St. Benilde in a do-or-die match later in the day.

Notes:

Anton Asistio, Angelo Kouame and Raffy Verano all contributed 6 points apiece for Ateneo

Prince Orizu paced the losing Tamaraws with his 11 buckets.

➤ It is the second game in a row that no Blue Eagles scored in double digits.
