MPBL News 2018: Gab Banal powered the Bacoor Strikers over Laguna Heroes, 91-86, in the ongoing Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup this Tuesday at Strike Gymnasium in Bacoor. Banal fired 25 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists, while Mark Montuano added 20 buckets, 9 boards and 2 steals.

Notes:

Banal, who came-off a grueling game earlier in the day at the PBA D-League Finals, dropped 10 buckets all in the fourth quarter.

Leonardo de Vera also contributed 17 points, while Chris Sumalinog had 15 goals.

Former PBA star Denok Meranda paced the losing Heroes with 29 markers on tournament record 13 three point bombs. 

Bacoor is now 4-2 in the Datu Cup, while Laguna fell to a 2-4 win-loss slate.

MPBL News 2018: Bulacan Kuyas decked Parañaque Patriots, 77-58, in the 2018 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup this Wednesday at the Bulacan Capitol Gym. Jay-R Taganas paced Bulacan with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Jayson Melano also chipped-in 12 markers and 10 boards.

Notes:

After 2 consecutive victories, the Kuyas are now 3-1 in the MPBL Datu Cup.

MPBL News 2018: Bobby Ray Parks powered the Mandaluyong El Tigre over the Pasig Pirates, 98-55, in the 2018 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup this Thursday at the Blue Eagle Gym in Pasig. Parks registered a monstrous triple-double with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Notes:

Ray Ray Parks could have achieved a quadruple-double if he managed to get at least 3 more snatches after registering a game-high 7 steals.

Bernzon Franco provided relief to the losing Pirates with 15 markers.

➤ Celebrity cager Xian Lim managed to drop 6 buckets and 6 caroms.

➤ Mandaluyong raced to a 16 point lead and never looked back, and even led to as much as 50 at one point.

➤ The El Tigre is now 2-1 in the MPBL standings, while the Pirates fell to a dismal 0-3 win-loss record.

Jojo Duncil paved the way for the Capitals with his 14 points 4 rebounds and 3 dishes, while Jesse Collado contributed 11 markers.

Notes:

Chris Masaglang powered the losing GenSan with 18 buckets, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

➤ The Capitals and the Warriors are now at identical 1-2 win-loss slate in the MPBL standings.

➤ Curiously, GenSan missed a total of 19 free throw shots.

MPBL News 2018: Parañaque Patriots F2 Logistics blasted Cebu Sharks Casino Ethyl Alcohol, 81-73, in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup 2018 this Tuesday at the Olivarez College Gym in Parañaque. Harold Arboleda played hero ball for the Patriots with his 26 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists on top of 5 of 5 shooting brilliance from the rainbow country.

Notes:

➤ Parañaque Patriots is now at the top of MPBL standings with a 2-0 win-loss slate together with the Muntinlupa Cagers and Davao Occidental Tigers.

Ryusei Koga of San Beda also contributed 21 points for the Patriots

➤ Hot-shooting Patrick Jan Cabahug led the losing Cebu Sharks with 29 buckets.

MPBL News 2018: Pampanga Lanterns escaped Bacoor Strikers, 81-80, in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup 2018 this Tuesday at the Olivarez College Gym in Parañaque. Juneric Baloria topscored for the Lanterns with 24 points including the game-dagger freethrows in crunch time.

Notes:

➤ Both the Lanterns and the Strikers now have identical 1-1 records.

➤ The Bacoor Strikers were led by Gab Banal and Chris Sumalinog who scored 21 and 17 buckets respectively.

➤ Pampanga missed the services of Jimbo Aquino (suspended) and Michael Juico (injured).
